David Francis, M.D.

David Francis received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Biology from Marquette University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Following medical school, he was awarded a T32 physician-scientist training grant through the National Institute of Health, during which he investigated novel molecular targeted agents in combination with radiation for cancers of the head and neck.

Dr. Francis subsequently completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Wisconsin, serving as chief resident from 2019 to 2020. He gained extensive clinical training in modern radiation techniques across a variety of disease sites, including intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and MRI-guided radiotherapy. He also received comprehensive training in the utilization of interstitial and intracavitary brachytherapy for breast and gynecologic malignancies. As a resident, Dr. Francis actively participated in pre-clinical and clinical research, publishing over 25 peer-reviewed manuscripts and textbook chapters in the management of head and neck, gynecologic, and breast cancers. He has co-authored institutional clinical protocols and presented his work at numerous national conferences. He is an active peer reviewer for several journals in the field of oncology and participates in undergraduate and medical student education.

Dr. Francis joined Radiation Oncology Associates, Ltd. in July of 2020, where he practices at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay and Aurora Medical Center – Bay Area in Marinette. He serves as the Director of Radiation Therapy at Aurora Bay Area and is a member of the Aurora System Gyn-Oncology Quality Council.
